Here we are in May. I have been enjoying every day as much as I can and we have been blessed with weather that cools off every few days or so. I love it! Today was in the low 80's which in Arizona is almost heavenly. My roses, petunias and gardenias are blooming and make me happy every time I walk out my front door. Even the poinsettia is growing new foliage.
We hired an attorney and he is helping us create a payment plan to eventually catch up on our missed mortgage payments. We are here in this house until we decide to leave. I am grateful for this little home more than ever. I appreciated all the help I had looking for new digs, but this is where we are supposed to be for now.
I have a new aspect of my job which I am very excited about. I am going to be the official patient advocate for our client Stephanie Gesky. I have know her for about five years now and I have been picking her up from dialysis every Friday for about two years. This week we went to the eye doctor together. I want to see her get the best coordinated care possible so she can have the optimal quality of life. I know I can help with that. I know the personnel at dialysis, assisted living and her attorney's office.
Maybe I can add one or two more clients and make this a full time occupation, it would be fulfilling for me to help them and I would be paid to do it!
I am excited about the new baby coming to our family in November, Maren and Sam are expecting their third baby this year. Probably looking for a bigger house. The two bedroom is barely containing the four of them.
Jerry's mommy June is doing much better. The medication she was on slowed her heart-rate way too much and she spent last Saturday night in the hospital E.R. She has the meds adjusted now and is feeling much better.
I have to say I have the best daughters in the world. Maren and Lauren took me to lunch last Monday and then we spent an hour and half at Barnes and Noble. Ahh bliss!
Friday night Maren dyed my hair while the kids played and watched movies. I love the new color. We made snickerdoodles with part brown sugar and they were good. Hope Sam liked them, Ethan and Circe sure did!
Cleaned house Saturday morning and attacked the messiest room in the house. BIG ROCK done!
Saturday I saw Emily, Hillarie and Lauren when they came over to doll Emily up for a night out. It was lots of fun visiting with them and joking around. Lauren took time to use the flat iron on my hair and it looked all smooth and shiny with its new dark brown color. I then left for Ginny's.
Ginny called me and invited me for a pedicure on Saturday and we had fun getting nails and toes all pretty. She found a beautiful rose covered card and wrote those things that make it worth being a mom. Topped the evening off with awesome Chinese food, a hug from Holden and a red rose and a hug from Josh. Very nice!
Jerry surprised me with a card and a re-bounder I had asked for. He sweetened the deal with a double box of Whitman's chocolates. Yummmm. I got a great foot-massage too. Wow, a really wonderful day.
Sunday was early church, teaching class and then skipping out to Maren's ward to attend Sacrament with Sam, Maren and their cute kiddles. Lauren came in time for the rest of the block. We enjoyed a light snack in Relief Society and listened to Maren sing with their quartet.
Since the men folk didn't buy groceries, we ended up at Mimi's and had a very nice late lunch with the same crew as above.
Amy scheduled me a massage on Monday and I loved every second of it. She gave me a beautiful card with a message I don't deserve, but I love and appreciate. She also presented me with a miniature deep red rose bush. Bliss.
