Today I walked outside and the breeze was cool! To us in Arizona the fall is like the spring to those in snow country. For three months plus we hibernate in the coolness of our airconditioning for most of the day and venture out in the cool of the morning and evening to walk or do yardwork. Now we can begin to open our windows and let the breezes blow real air into our homes. We can plant flowers and vegetables in our gardens. All the things associated with Spring in colder climates.
I cleaned out closets and preparing to clean carpets and paint! Cooler weather revives my energy like nothing else can do, not even the evil Rockstar with all its B vitamins and caffene. So, I am off the energy drinks and into morning walks along the canal.
We are having my Grandma's Cookie and Pumpkin Carving Party this Sunday evening at our house. I am making potatoe soup and homemade biscuts. We will be roasting pumpkin seeds! Joyce's husband Ryan has taken to this tradition. He loves those pumpkin seeds so much he starts buying pumpkins in September. He has perfected the technique.
We will be eating soup, biscuts and pumpkins seeds. Decorating sugar cookies (Maren's best recipe!), carving pumpkins with prizes for the best kids and adult designs. Kids will get to wear their costumes so Grandma and Grandpa can see them this year. We will put photos of them in our foam frames we are decorating. So pleanty to do and lots of fun to be had!
